Best Quran App With a Khatmah Tracker in 2026

A khatmah app should do two things: split the Quran into a daily portion you can keep, and know what you already read so you never do the maths yourself. We checked eight popular apps on their store pages. This list is written by the BetterMuslim team, so we say plainly where another app is the better pick.

Short answer: for a pure khatmah planner, Khatmah and Golden Quran are free and built for it. For the most translations with a planner, Al Quran by Greentech. For memorising, Tarteel. If you want the khatmah to sit next to your prayers, azkar and other habits in one free app with no ads, where pages you read in the mushaf count by themselves, BetterMuslim.

What to look for

  • ❋A real plan. Pick a finish date or a number of days and the app gives you today's pages. A plain bookmark is not a plan.
  • ❋Reading counts by itself. If you read in the app's mushaf, the pages should be marked for you. Logging by hand is where most khatmahs stop.
  • ❋It handles a missed day. Good apps spread the missed pages over the days left, or let you move the finish date.
  • ❋The mushaf you know. Page images of the Madani mushaf keep the same 604 pages as a printed copy, so a juz is where you expect it.
  • ❋No pressure to pay. Check whether the plan itself, or offline reading, sits behind a subscription.

The apps, one by one

Khatmah

Built for exactly this job and on the App Store since 2012. You set how long the khatmah should take or how much you read a day, and it gives you a daily portion and a reminder. Free, with optional tips. It also has prayer times, adhan, Qibla, athkar and tafsir. In English and Arabic.

Golden Quran (المصحف الذهبي)

A full mushaf app in the King Fahd Complex layout (Hafs, Warsh, Qaloun) with more than 200 reciters, 60+ tafsirs and an Apple Watch app. Khatmah plans run from 3 days to a month, including a 7-day plan, and it follows where you read and moves you to the next portion. Free with no ads. The pick if you want a classic mushaf with a planner inside.

Al Quran by Greentech

The best choice for translations: 170+ translations and tafsirs in 60+ languages, word by word, and 80+ recitations, all offline. Its Quran Planner sets a 29 or 30 day plan, or your own length, and tracks missed sessions. Free with no ads.

Quran.com

A clean, free, ad-free reader from the Quran Foundation, with several mushaf editions as page images and strong memorisation repeat tools. Reading goals and streaks live on the quran.com website; the iOS listing does not mention a khatmah plan.

Tarteel

Listens as you recite and follows along. Premium marks mistakes as you go, hides verses for memorising, and adds goal planning. The best app for hifz and revision; a khatmah is a side feature.

Quranly

A Quran habit app rather than a planner: you pick a daily goal in minutes, keep a streak, and can read with friends on a weekly leaderboard. Good for building the habit; it does not split the Quran into a finish date.

Muslim Pro

An all-in-one app with prayer times, adhan and the Quran in 22 languages. Free with ads; offline Quran is part of Premium. The current listing does not describe a khatmah planner.

BetterMuslim

A free habit tracker for worship with the full mushaf offline (604 pages), 243 reciters and tafsir. Start a khatmah from the Quran tab and pick a pace: one page a day, a page after each prayer, a juz a day, finish before Ramadan, or your own number of days. Every option shows the pages and minutes a day and the date you finish. Pages you read in the mushaf count by themselves, the home screen shows today's pages, and if you fall behind the app tells you and lets you move the date. The khatmah sits next to your prayers, azkar and other habits, so the day is in one place. No ads, no subscription, in 6 languages.

Which one should you pick?

  • ❋You want only a khatmah planner: Khatmah or Golden Quran.
  • ❋You read with a translation in your language: Al Quran by Greentech.
  • ❋You are memorising: Tarteel, or Quran.com for free repeat tools.
  • ❋You want a short daily Quran streak with friends: Quranly.
  • ❋You want the khatmah, prayers and azkar in one free app with no ads: BetterMuslim.

For paces in pages (a juz a day is about 20 pages, one page a day is 604 days) see Khatmah Tracker: Plan to Finish the Quran. To finish before Ramadan 2027, see the Ramadan 2027 plan.
